Black Hawk Down
I became time I posted something here. It's been awhile...I know. But don't worry, I'm still here. I've just been very busy and also I have been working on several other blogs that you can find in my blogrole and via my blogger profile.
Well, lets get down to business. I recently saw 'Black Hawk Down again. And in case you didn't know: this great movie based on true events in Mogadishu is one of my favorite movies. And just like anyone who visits youtube now and then, I look for clips that interest me. So...
Here is a fanvideo with the soundtrack of the movie 'Black Hawk Down':
En here is the scene where the first casualty is made: Dominic Pilla. Killed In Action( KIA) that day fighting for the freedom of another country thousands of miles away from his homeland. Many others died that day in vein...

Michael Collins

Today I saw a superb movie that I just had to blog about: Michael collins. This epic story was based on the Irish political leader Michael Collins and what he meant for Ireland and their struggle for independence from jolly old England. The main character was portrayed by Liam Neesson, and big-time Hollywood star Julie Roberts played the role of Kitty Kiernan. (For me more than enough reason to see the film, I absolutely love her!)According to Wikipedia, it is the most succesful movie made in Ireland.
The movie itself was great for me, since I am somewhat of a history buff. Of course, in motion pictures usually historical inaccuracies are almost inevitable. And this film is no different, and was even critized for this reason. None the less, the movie captured the atmosphere of the Irish revolutionary times. And that is what's most important.
If you would like to know more about Michael Collins and his role in history up until his assassination by fellow countrymen (because he was willing to talk to the British amongst other things), you can read more about it here on Wikipedia.
And yes, I just spoiled the ending of the movie...He gets it! I'm sorry...

The ultimate blogger
I enjoy blogging, I really do. I enjoy the entire process of sharing my views with world, interacting with readers and other blogger through comments, polls and so on. You could even say I am somewhat obsessed with discussion boards and blogging. But I would never dream of going this far: Big Brother style. Yes, if you surf to sites like justin.tv or read the article posted at the bottom of this blog post, you will know what I am talking about.
These people have no privacy left. Every second of their lives are recorded and viewable by anyone online. They build their own fanbase, interact with viewers via chat and go so far that they even wander the streets with a camera on their heads filming everything they see and do. They have given up privacy.
The greatest star of 'the real reality tv'? The beautiful 23 year old Justine Ezarik, thanks to her good looks and sawyness. She is just one of several internet celebrities that came into existence because of this new medium. And just like real stars she has fans...and just like Hollywood stars she is also being harrassed:
"One person called 911 with a false report of a stabbing at Justin's apartment. Police burst in with guns drawn — and it could all be seen online"
It sure has its nasty side apparently.
I have respect for people that are willing to entertain people this way and have some fun doing it as well. But I will stick to ordinary blogging thank you...( ok, and watching other cams)
The real reality tv: a must read!
